The National Science Foundation (NSF) developed the I-Corps program in 2011 to help move academic research to the marketplace. In 2016, NSF provided WSU with a three-year grant that also designates WSU as one of 51 universities that are part of the NSF National Innovation Network.

Innovosource  – a group that works with research institutions and their innovation partners to help accelerate innovation exchanges. This group is a source for news on commercialization efforts, tech/start up investing and open innovation. They public online several newsletters related to gap funding practices, translational research, commercial feasibility funds, pre-seed/seed start-up investment funds

Mind the Gap  - a resource for those interested in university-affiliated translational research and start up gap funding. This source is part of Innovosource.

Washington Global Health Alliance - a group that facilitates collaboration to create activites and partnerships in global health.  They leverage partnerships, raise community awareness, support creative solutions that address local and global health challenges and serve as a convener for collaboration between global health organizations and the public and private sector.

CleanTech Alliance Washington - a group that facilitates the generation and growth of cleantech companies and jobs.  Their newsletter shares information on CleanTech Alliance, member news, public policy, and opportunities in cleantech.

Life Science Washington - a resource that advocates to bring together research institutions, investors and entrepreneurs to grow the economic sector and create healthier communities.

Washington Technology Industry Association - a resource for the technology community in Washington that informs and motivate dindustry, education and government professionals to make the region the leading technology community. Their blog gives insight into the tech industry.

Small Business/Startup Resources

SCORE - a non-profit organization that provides business advice and mentoring
related to creating and managing a startup, running and growing a business,
marketing, financing, and business technologies. There is chapter in Spokane.

The U.S. Small Business Administration - US government entity that makes small
business loans, loan guarantees, offers counseling sessions to small business owners,
and other forms of assistance. Their web site has many resources for the small business

The Small Business Assistance Center - a non profit offering a wealth of information
for small business owners from financing to providing benefits for employees

Disruptive 1 - a design firm based out of SLC, UT that specializes in helping startups with all of their graphic design needs; offers free pitch deck consultation and design feedback to any team on how they can improve the design; full pitch deck design package available.
